Qui sommes-nous

Créée en 1980, l’Association des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes du Manitoba (ATIM) est une association sans but lucratif affiliée au Conseil de traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes du Canada (CTTIC). En 2025, le gouvernement du Manitoba a reconnu l’ATIM comme l’organisme d’agrément exclusif des langagiers de la province. Afin d’être agréés conformément aux normes nationales, les membres de l’ATIM doivent passer l‘examen d’agrément du CTTIC ou soumettre leur dossier à une évaluation rigoureuse.

L’ATIM a pour but d’offrir une voix collective à ses membres, d’encourager leur croissance professionnelle et de sensibiliser la population au rôle important que jouent les traducteurs et les interprètes dans la société.

Elle protège l’intérêt public en veillant à ce que ses membres exercent leur profession dans le respect de son Code de déontologie (ADD LINK HERE).  

L’ATIM n’offre pas de services de traduction ou d’interprétation. Si vous souhaitez faire appel à un traducteur ou à un interprète qualifié, nous vous invitons à consulter notre répertoire et à communiquer directement avec le langagier de votre choix.

Jamie McLennan

President

Jamie McLennan is a certified French-to-English translator and the founder of Gaston Murdock, a Winnipeg translation firm specializing in education, legal documents, corporate communications and government publications. In addition to his work as a translator, he has enjoyed a 20-year career in opera, performing tenor roles on stages across Canada and abroad. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Brandon University, a Master of Music from the University of British Columbia, a Bachelor of Arts (Translation) from York University, and is currently completing the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation at McGill University. Jamie previously served as ATIM's director of certification from 2020 to 2021 and has been board president since 2024.

Jeff Staflund

Treasurer

Jeff is an ATIM-certified French-to-English translator and bilingual conference interpreter, accredited with the Government of Canada, with over 25 years of experience. Based in Winnipeg, he works as a translator, interpreter, consultant, and educator. He holds degrees in linguistics, conference interpreting, and education.

Jean-Paul Gagné

Member-at-large

Jean-Paul Gagné is an ATIM-certified English-to-French translator and director of the Winnipeg-based firm Freynet-Gagné Translation and Consulting. He began his career at the federal Translation Bureau in 1987 after earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Translation from the University of Saint-Boniface. Outside the office, Jean-Paul enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending quality time with his four daughters and eight grandchildren.

Gita Sharma

Gita Sharma is a seasoned Translator, Interpreter, and Transcriptionist with over four years of experience specializing in the Legal sector. She currently serves as the Language Centre Coordinator at Westman Immigrant Services (WIS), where she oversees the recruitment and development of language assistants and manages interpreter scheduling and dispatch operations.
