Why Join ATIM?
ATIM membership is your pathway to certification as a Certified Translator (C. Tr.), Certified Terminologist (C. Term.) or Certified Interpreter (C. Int.). ATIM coordinates CTTIC’s national certification exams in Manitoba and administers the certification-by-portfolio process.
Certification matters. Many organizations, government bodies and educational institutions require the professionals they hire to be certified. Your certification shows that you meet rigorous national standards and that you are committed to protecting the public under ATIM’s Code of Ethics (ADD LINK TO CODE OF ETHICS).
Joining ATIM also connects you to a broad professional community. As an ATIM member, you’re part of a national network of more than 1,500 translators, terminologists and interpreters certified by CTTIC across Canada.

ATIM regularly receives and relays job postings and work opportunities to its members, connecting them with employment and contracting opportunities in Manitoba and beyond.
Advocacy and representation
ATIM represents the interests of Manitoba’s language professionals before governments, institutions and the public. In 2025, these efforts resulted in the Government of Manitoba formally recognizing ATIM as the exclusive certifying body for translators, terminologists and interpreters in the province—a milestone that has strengthened the standing of every member.
